Forecast Bar overview
Forecast Bar, powered by Forecast.io, offers hyper-accurate, hyper-local live weather and forecasts right in your menu bar. With beautiful background images matching current weather conditions and time of day, along with a simple and clean interface, you will find yourself checking the weather non-stop!
- Tapping on Forecast Bar opens up a panel full of relevant weather information, including:
- Current conditions, with current, feels like, high, and low temperatures, as well as relative humidity
- A succinct description of the weather for the next hour, and next 24 hours
- Rich, animated charts showing temperature and rain forecasts
- When rain is detected in the next hour, an animated chart showing rain intensity
- 5 day forecast, with high and low temperatures and weather conditions
- Stunning animated icons for each weather condition
- Full description of all local NWS severe weather alerts (U.S. only), including Notification Center support
- Tapping again on the forecast displays a rich, animated panel with additional information, including:
- Current wind conditions with an animated compass
- Dew point and humidity readings, with a "mugginess" animated gauge
- Pressure indicator with trend information
- Sunrise and sunset times for the day
- Visibility reading

- You can also tap on any day's forecast to see a full 24 hour temperature and precipitation chart.
- Forecast Bar offers full support for light and dark menu bar modes, and carefully conserves your computer's power.
- Forecast Bar automatically uses your location, or allows you to type in any location to get weather reports.

Clearer language settings.
- App Language and Forecast Language have separate menus.
- Forecast Language follows App Language by default, unless you choose a different language.
- Changing App Language preserves your chosen forecast language.
- Changing App Language updates the app and menu bar right away, without reopening Forecast Bar.
- Language names use consistent casing and include readable and native names.
Forecast Bar in twelve more languages
- Forecast Bar adds 12 languages on Mac.
- Dates, times, and weather readings use natural formatting in the new languages.
- Notifications use your app-language choice.

Share your city's microclimates
- Microclimate Explorer (Pro) shares your city's warm and cool areas, their gap, and a two-day trend.
Weather Station
- Your own station sets conditions and tunes forecasts; followed stations show reference readings.
- This Is My Station in station details selects which followed station is yours.
Search Settings
- Search in the Settings sidebar finds settings by name or what they do.
- Choosing a result opens its tab and scrolls to the setting; results stay ready for your next pick.
Rain gauges and nearby observations
- Rain Gauges on the radar (Pro) show volunteer CoCoRaHS rain totals for the last 24 hours.
- For past days in the U.S., Time Machine (Pro) compares a nearby station's observed high, low and rain with its normal, and adds the closest rain gauge.
Icon styles and regional backgrounds
- Five new matched icon styles for weather and data lead the icon list. Sculpted Matte is the new default, including for anyone on the previous default.
- Backgrounds match your forecast location's landscape by default. Picking a scene in Settings keeps it.
- Coast, Woodlands, Uplands and Drylands are also backgrounds you can pick, right after Open Country.
Everything else
- The menu bar's hourly timeline shows whole hours, with no column cut off at the edge.
- The calendar chooser opens at a usable size, with every calendar in reach.
- Notifications keep arriving after macOS renews the app's push registration, without a manual refresh.
- Home stays in your saved locations after you reorder them.
- Stars fade gradually as clouds move in at night.
- In Visualize Day, the sun sets behind the photo's skyline instead of fading in mid-air.
- Fixed a crash on macOS 14 when a window's content refreshes.
- Settings › Data & Layout no longer crashes when your current location matches a saved city.

This app deserves a lot of credit. Of all the menubar/quick access forecast apps I have looked at it has the clearest design (once you have customised it to you taste). So far the accuracy is as good as most of the others as long as you don't take long range forecasts too literally. For me, after a long trawl, it has proved best of class. (For some reason MU requires reviewers to choose something they don't like from a limited range of options; none of those apply but in order to validate the review I have oped for social media integration.)

Please remove the FREE designation from this app. It is not free and you only learn that after it's downloaded and launched by announcing that you have a few days to try, after which the subscription kicks in. No thanks.

Just by glancing at the pictures with heavy graphics and too much info, it's sure consumes a lot of of memory and cpu.
